Understanding Society is a major new research study designed to enhance our understanding of life in the UK and how it is changing.
The largest study of its type in the world, Understanding Society is a hugely important research resource because of its unique, long term (longitudinal) view on our lives. The UK-wide study takes a sample of 40,000 households containing around a 100,000 individuals and attempts to interview all household members annually. It will include people from all walks of life, covering a variety of ethnic and social backgrounds.
