Welcome to Understanding Society
Understanding Society will track the lives of 100,000 people in Britain every year as they are affected by regional, national and international change.
The study, which is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and run by the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER), will capture crucial information across a wide spectrum of peoples lives, including their health, skills, finances and employment, and the environmental behaviour of British households. It will also track how households respond to policy initiatives from interest rate changes to child care subsidies and see what paths influence the jobs people do, their state of health and how much money they have to retire in old age.
