Consultation overview

The design and implementation phase of Understanding Society involves extensive consultation to ensure that the study meets the current and potential needs of all stakeholders. In the course of the consultation process the scientific leadership team seeks the views of researchers and other interested parties on the content and design of Understanding Society and to provide feedback on proposals. 

The first phase of the consultation focused on the content of wave 1, but also established the larger set of topics which those who contributed were interested in seeing included in the study over the long term.

A separate consultation was carried out to establish the content and design required for the ethnicity strand of Understanding Society.

A consultation process for the long term content, including the second round and following waves was also carried out.
